“Lewisham CCG engaged with Opus to support medicine administration training for 750 domiciliary care workers in conjunction with London Borough of Lewisham.
Initially 3 training sessions were undertaken (two for care workers and one for the care managers), the outcomes and comments evaluated, and the training modified. Throughout the process Opus were supportive, offering suggestions and changes to improve the training.
Feedback from the training and from the care managers was that the courses were excellent, well delivered and appropriate to local needs. In 2014 Lewisham Borough agreed to use Opus to provide on- going medicine administration training and the CCG has been working with Opus to develop similar training arrangements around medicine administration for other carer groups.
