Things to consider when booking in medicines at your care organisation
A number of our customers have contacted us about problems with booking in medication, and the occurrence of medicines errors as a consequence.
A customer recently reported a medicines error where a medicines was not administered to a resident for 10 days because it was started at the end of the medicine cycle and was not transferred onto the new cycle.
We have prepared a checklist for you to use within your organisation when medicines are received into your service.
It contains an easy-to-read set of points to check as part of your internal process including what to do when ordering medicines, and items to check once the medicines are booked in.
